The B: Urban Project – the new ‘urban’ way of life.

This is a re-imagining of the city centre. The re-designed public spaces and streets of Birmingham city centre have become dynamic & characterful places that people choose to visit and that locals can be proud of. Focus has shifted from car-dominated streets to people-focused landscapes. This new urban way of living creates a safer, friendlier, and more exciting city landscape, transforming streets from links between A and B, to places offering full experiences and attractions in their own right.

Hi! I am graduating from BCU with a BA (Hons) in Landscape Architecture. My interests encompass many areas in this field, but I particularly enjoy ecological design, public realm projects and looking at ways in which landscape architecture can help improve communities and bring people together, while simultaneously being sustainable, beautiful, functional places.
My work with LDA and ADP during my degree has given me the opportunity to practice in these areas and to contribute to teams driven by a desire to bring positive change for people through landscape architecture. Through volunteering at Birmingham Botanical Gardens I have developed my interests further, understanding the importance of proximity to nature in an urban context, at the human scale and how it can positively improve our health and wellbeing.

This portfolio explores many of these themes in my final year project – The B:Urban Project.
