A View From Above

2020

My Thesis project, A View From Above, focuses on the relocation of the residents of Fairbourne, using the Co-Housing concept for community living. The design is underpinned with self-sustainability and a low carbon footprint. Features include water harvesting, solar power, community allotments and orchards. Habitats are improved with native planting and locally sourced materials. During the course of this project I have developed a sensitivity towards the landscape and now design with an emphasis on climate and environmental factors.

When I think about what draws me to Landscape Architecture, I recall fond memories of helping my Dad in the garden as a child. Childhood country walks fed my imagination and I developed an appreciation of the landscape.
My creativeness led to studying design and working in Horticulture reinforced my knowledge and design skills after winning a Silver RHS award. I aspire to create positive changes through design and hope to evolve to assist with the challenges of climate change.
