Affordable city centre living for the whole community. The main concept of this project was connections, whether it be with people or places, so that the residents could develop a sense of community within the apartment block. The Hive has 15 apartments specifically designed for single occupiers, small families and the elderly. In addition, there are five communal spaces, such as a kitchen, workspace and garden, where the residents can come together to create these connections and branch out of their apartment.

My name is Holly Lusher-Chamberlain. What I enjoy most about interior design is how you can redesign a space into something new and innovative. The most enjoyable spaces to design were hospitality and residential because I love how the home has changed over time and how it can be redesigned to incorporate the things people need in day to day life.
Particularly what I found interesting, and focused my final project on, was how small we could push our living spaces to be and to discover what areas are, at points, not necessarily needed.
