Centre for training emergency responders

2020

Fairbourne is a coastal settlement that will be subject to the impacts of climate change, in particular rising sea levels. This project aims to relocate the residents of Fairbourne and use the settlement and surrounding landscape as a platform for training emergency responders through live scenario exercises as preparedness for more frequent severe weather events and natural disasters. Some of the key facilities include a swift water training chute, flooded town and climbing area.

Landscape Architecture was a natural progression for me following my undergraduate degree in Graphic Design to combine my creativity, love for the outdoors and natural world and interest in technical design.
My hand-rendered style for visually communicating has been inspired by more traditional planners and designers, such as Gordon Cullen, Grant W.Reid and Patrick Gebbes which has been reflected through my collection of work.
