Working in conjunction with your studies, Birmingham School of Architecture & Design offers a plethora of activities as part of Superstudio.

Held every Wednesday, Superstudio gives students the opportunity to develop specific crafts, digital skills, work collaboratively to enter design competitions and enjoy workshops, alongside hearing from key speakers from each discipline – advancing their own repertoire for designing across the scales.

Ollie coordinates the evolution of Superstudio by connecting students with staff and visiting experts beyond their core discipline. The platform offers one-on-one or group tutorials to aid students focussing their attention on the themes that matter to them.

Each year the programme adapts to capture the latest software skills required by every discipline, but it also maintains a core of practical drawing and modelling workshops. Students are encouraged to join in to build up a vast skillset which they can then apply to their project work – or just to enjoy sharing in the Superstudio collective.

Thank you to all that contributed this year, especially for adapting quickly during the pandemic so that we could still offer digital skills, discussion topics, model making workshops, tutorials and much more directly to each other’s homes… Definitely food for thought for next year’s evolution.

We always welcome guests to participate in the Superstudio programme – if you have any queries or would like to be involved, please get in contact via email or through Instagram. The same goes for students – please let us know if there is something specific you’d like to see on the programme next year!
